What Next?? Why blog?? What do I have to share??
So, after nearly ten years of hustling as a one-person show and making hand crafting, I was just worn out thinking about making things just to sell them. (Sales are cool; crafting is great, but constantly cranking out content? That’s just draining.)
I was so done with all those sales pitch schemes on how to outsmart the social media algorithm or snap fabulous product photos or unlock the secret vault of search engines for my website. I mean, really—what’s next??
Ah, the age-old question that has perplexed philosophers, scientists alike :
There seems to be a sea of options, but what do I want? The comfortable ones or the slightly challenging ones?
Inside out Or Outside In?
Do I stay on the warm comfortable inside & continue to experience the world as a spectator? Do I sit in my large recliner & watch as a part of the audience?
Or, Do I head out to into the uncomfortable new stage out there be a part of the play?
One is known, comfortable & honestly easy to make a mental note & forget it. The other one means making the efforts to see, learn, change & eventually evolve.
We all know the obvious answer to these question!!
But, can I find a small nook where I be both inside out & outside in?
The outside & the inside meet!!
That’s when I discovered the word -“Limen”.
‘Limen’ means threshold in Latin. Liminal space is the grey area for all sorts of potential. To the architect in me it meant an “in between” space. A connection between the inside and the outside.
And that is how I found my reasons to blog – because this was my liminal space. My Verandah!!
Verandah is the colonial word for a roofed, open-air porch or gallery attached to the outside of a building, often extending along the front and sides.
As a Bangalorean, I’ve gotta say, the classic verandah is my absolute fave hangout spot where the indoors just flows into the outdoors without a hitch. Bangalore used to be all about those verandahs; it’s where all the fun and life happened, blending those inside-out vibes perfectly.

The Verandah or the portico was inseparable part of lives thru centuries, like seen in the pictures above. From the southern Indian hot dry homes of north Karnataka to warm humid chettinad homes. Even the royal of northern plains in Agra – life happened in these liminal spaces.
The inside went out to meet the outside or the outside was welcomed to be a part of the inside.
So, this blog is my verandah space—an exciting connection where it’s all about embracing the wonderful process of being a handcrafter, book lover, storyteller, baker, a former small business owner.
Here I hope to share tales, both tall & short, because sometimes facts are fun, while other times, fiction is truer than facts!!
So, welcome aboard my train of thoughts!!
